The Egyptian government has said it may postpone next week's "national reconciliation" conference between Palestinian factions following threats by Hamas to boycott the gathering. Hamas said it intended to boycott the conference due to its fear that the Palestinian Authority would pressure Hamas into ending its control over the Gaza Strip. Meanwhile, on Thursday the Hamas government decided to ban Fatah supporters from marking the fourth anniversary of the death of Yasser Arafat. 11/07/08
