Saudi Arabia's KingAbdullah Bin Abdul Aziz recalled his country's ambassador from Damascus and demanded an end to the bloodshed in Syria. Syria's future lies inchoosing between wisdom or chaos King Aziz said in a speech Monday, the sharpest yet by an Arab leader. Events in Syria are not part of the religion, values or ethics he said and called for an immediate end to the bloodshed. Aziz also demanded Syria's President Bashar Assad initiateimmediately comprehensive reforms. On Sunday the Gulf Cooperation Council comprised of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia andthe United Arab Emirates issued a statement urging Syria to protect the rights and dignity of the people and meet their aspirations and end the bloodshed. It also called for an end to the excessive use of force which has resulted in the killing and wounding of many.
