Minor earthquake hits Israel

An earthquake measuring 4.2 on theRichter Scale struck Israel shortly before noon on Sunday in various parts ofthe country. The Geophysical Institute confirmed that the epicenter of the quake was in theMediterranean Sea, some 40 miles west of Binyamina. Citizens in Haifa, Afula, Tel Aviv,Herzliya and Kibbutz Nativ.all reported feeling the earthquake. The last earthquake in Israeloccurred in April in the north of the country and coincided with an earthquakenear the Greek island Crete which measured 5.9 on the Richter scale and wasalso felt in Cairo.
