This is the last segment of a three-part multimedia package produced by the Thomson Reuters foundation.
It looks at the final days of the Egyptian revolution, from February 4 - 11 2011, ending with the resignation of former President Hosni Mubarak.
Hailed by many as a revolutionary success at the time, citizens took to streets across Egypt in celebration.
But on January 25, 2012 Egyptians again throng to Cairo's iconic Tahrir Square, this time in protest at the country's ruling military junta.
Protesters are demanding that the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces immediately hand full power to a civilian government.
But Islamist parties who dominated the country's parliamentary elections, and once played a central role in Tahrir demonstrations, are opposed to renewed protests, and urge patience from Egyptians.
It is a stance that has prompted some to question the possibility of back-room deals between Islamists and the ruling military council.
