Islamic Jihad Commander Killed In West Bank Gun Battle With

Tariq Abu Ra'ali, a senior commander of Islamic Jihad and another gunman belonging to the group, were killed on Tuesday morning in the West Bank city of Nablus. IDF and Shin Bet forces had entered the city in attempt to arrest Abu Ra'ali, but the Islamic Jihad leader barricaded himself in his apartment with another gunman and opened fire on the Israeli troops. The IDF therefore moved in on the two gunmen and killed them in the ensuing exchange of fire. A sweep of the apartment after the operation revealed several explosives devices, an AK-47 assault rifle, ammunition and other military equipment.
