Israel is bracing for further attacks at Gaza border crossings used to transfer fuel and humanitarian assistance into Gaza, as Hamas steps up its efforts to abduct soldiers.Despite the attack at Kerem Shalom on Saturday morning in which 13 soldiers were wounded, Israel does not intend to alter a previous decision to transfer 25 Russian made armoured personnel carriers to the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank.  While there is a growing demand within the military to launch a large scale ground offensive in Gaza , Israeli security and government officials quoted in local media have said such an offensive will only be launched after the upcoming Independence Day celebrations are over.04/21/08
