This is Jeffrey Paul Delisle, a Canadian intelligence officer accused of leaking government secrets.
The Navy sub-lieutenant is also facing charges of breach of trust and communicating safeguarded information to a foreign entity.
He is the first Canadian in recent memory charged with espionage at home - If convicted he could get life under a secrecy law enacted post-September 11.
Delisle has allegedly been leaking secrets since 2007 while working for an intelligence unit in Halifax that tracks vessels in Canadian waters.
The center has access to secret data from NATO countries, but Canadian police said they are not aware of any threat to public safety.
