Today, we are going to learn how to ask people for their names. In Mandarin, we say "請問你叫什麼名字?" (qing3 wen4 ni3 jiao4 she2 me ming2 zi) 請 (qing3) is please 問 (wen4) is ask 你 (ni3) is you (we learned that) 叫 (jiao4) is call 什麼 (she2 me) is what 名字 (ming2 zi) is name Together, it's "may I please ask you what your name is" in English. When being asked, you can rely "我是(wo3 shi4) +your name", just like we learned in lesson 2. Blue Bird 飛飛 (fei1 fei1) and Fish 游游 (you3 you2) will demonstrate for us: 飛飛 (fei1 fei1): 請問你叫什麼名字? (qing3 wen4 ni3 jiao4 she2 me ming2 zi) 游游 (you3 you2): 你好，我是游游。請問你叫什麼名字? (ni3 hao3 wo3 shi4 you3 you2. qing3 wen4 ni3 jiao4 she2 me ming2 zi) 飛飛 (fei1 fei1): 你好，我是飛飛。(ni3 hao3 wo3 shi4 fei1 fei1) It's pretty straight forward right?
