It was a winter wonderland.
Heavy snowfall across parts of northern India blanketed hill stations thrilling tourists.
No time was wasted in starting a snowball fight, joined in by all.
For some it was a rare and exciting experience.

"This is the second time I am seeing snowfall in my life. I feel as though I have come in the abode of the gods. I feel as if the world is in my hands."
In Udhampur district in the northern Jammu and Kashmir state, the snow is good for business, with many visitors travelling to witness the snowfall each year.
Even in Pathankot district in the northern Punjab state, snowfall was reported - a rare occurrence.
The Indian Meterological Department said the low temperatures of 2 to 3 degrees Celsius below the average of 12 degrees is likely to remain, for the moment.
