Egyptians line up to vote in the third round of a parliamentary election that has so far handed Islamists the biggest share of seats in the assembly.
Voters turned out in unprecedented numbers in the first two rounds, and parties ranging from hardline Islamists to liberals and secularists are competing hard for every vote.
But the ballot has been overshadowed by the deaths of 17 people last month in clashes between security forces and protesters.
One first-time voter hopes the elections will finally lead to the liberation of Egyptians and peace on the streets.
(SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) VOTER, IBRAHIM RIZK, SAYING:
"I hope we can live in complete freedom and peace, and the life will be simple and as normal as possible."
A senior member of the Muslim Brotherhood - which leads the poll - said he's confident the outcome will reflect the revolution's true demands.
(SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) SENIOR MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD FIGURE, MOHAMED ELBELTAGY, SAYING:
"This parliament is that of the revolution and will continue on the revolution's path. These are Egypt's first free elections after the revolution and this will be the first parliament formed by the will of the Egyptian people."
The Higher Judicial Elections Committee announced earlier that Parliament's first meeting will be held by the end of January - one year on from the start of the uprising that toppled former President Hosni Mubarak.
