As glaciers melt during the warmer months in mountainous Kyrgyzstan, the flow of water is washing stones and rocks down the mountains and flooding villages. After a bad flood in 2006, Karinbubu Bakieva decided it was time to prevent similar disasters in the future. With the help of Christian Aid partner Resource Centre for Elderly, Karinbubu and the village disaster committee went up into the mountains 2000m above sea level to fix the problem.
