Several members of nationalist and anarchist groups have been detained by police in Moscow on Sunday (December 4) after polls closed in Russian parliamentary election.
Russian nationalist leader Dmitry Dyomushkin was among protesters detained in Moscow city centre, where police searched and arrested dozens of activists, who tried to hold an unsanctioned rally.
In another part of Moscow, a group of youth with faces covered with black masks marched down the street with lit flares, carrying banner addressed to the Russian people and reading "You've been screwed". The young men, who belonged to the "AntiFa" anarchist movement, protested against election fraud and chanted "Our candidate is self-rule".
Two exit polls suggested Putin's party, United Russia, would win 45.5 and 48.5 percent of the votes in the election to the State Duma compared with 64.3 percent in 2007 and that it could struggle even to hold on to a majority in the chamber.
