Hugh Grant testified at an inquiry into media standards on Monday (November 21), accusing another British tabloid of phone hacking. Grant said he believes his phone was hacked by Britain's Mail on Sunday tabloid - the first time he has implicated a newspaper not owned by media mogul Rupert Murdoch in the wrongdoing. The actor said a 2007 story about his romantic life in the paper, owned by Murdoch rival Associated Newspapers Ltd., could only have been obtained through eavesdropping on his voice mails.
Country sensation Taylor Swift came up the big winner at the American Music Awards on Sunday (November 20), claiming three trophies including the top honor, artist of the year. She tied for most wins with British singer Adele, who also earned three trophies for female pop artist, best album with smash hit "21" and top adult contemporary performer. Rapper Nicki Minaj was the night's other big winner with two AMAs in the rap or hip-hop category: favorite artist and best album for her "Pink Friday."
Bruce Springsteen will go on tour next year for the first time in three years, starting with European dates in May and the United States and others to follow. Springsteen's E Street Band tour will be his first since the June death of saxophone player Clarence Clemons, who suffered a stroke and died six days later at age 69. The European dates for Springsteen's first tour since 2009 run from mid-May through late July.
