US Congressional-Executive Commission on China chairman Chris Smith had his visa application rejected. The Chinese regime is barring the Republican representative from visiting the house-confined blind rights lawyer Chen Guangcheng.
Chen Guangcheng is a critic of forced late-term abortions. He has been under house arrest since September 2010 on no charges, after finishing a four-year jail sentence for disturbing public order.
Many visitors both inside and outside of China have been unsuccessful in visiting Mr. Chen. Congressman Smith says he'll try visiting Chen again in January.
