A conscious decision has been made by the highest levels of the U.S. government to create a phony terrorist threat in order to justify the militarization of foreign policy, repeal civil liberties at home, criminalize dissent and introduce draconian legislation like the Patriot Act and the Military Commissions Act of 2006.
