Libyan munitions disposal experts detonate a large unexploded bomb in Tripoli.
The bomb had been dropped by NATO forces on one of Muammar Gaddafi's compounds before the former leader left the city.
(SOUNDBITE) (English) GENERAL MANAGER OF THE LIBYAN MINE ACTION CENTRE, ABDELMUNIM ALEYWAN:
"We found this bomb, which weighs about 450 pounds, and it was really a direct threat to the people and to the city itself."
NATO ended its Libyan mission on October 31st, seven months after launching air and sea operations that helped bring about the overthrow and death of Gaddafi.
About 5,900 military targets were destroyed in strike missions, including more than 1,000 tanks, other vehicles and guns, and Gaddafi's command and control networks.
