And in Yunnan Province in South China, a deadly mine accident has killed 19 people, with many more still trapped underground.

The accident on Thursday morning at the Sizhuang mine was caused by a coal and gas explosion. At least 24 men are said to be still trapped, but high levels of gas are hindering rescue efforts.

Mining safety has become a major concern in China, with over 2,600 people killed last year in mining accidents. Last month, a gas explosion at a coal mine in Hunan Province left 29 miners dead.
