Outgoing Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou said political leaders have agreed on a new government - but didn't name his replacement.
He said Greece would implement an EU bailout decision and do all it can to stay in the euro.
(SOUNDBITE) (Greek) OUTGOING GREEK PRIME MINISTER GEORGE PAPANDREOU SAYING:
"Today the major political powers are uniting their strengths, so that we can guarantee to the Greek people that we will do everything that is necessary, not only for Greece to remain safely in the euro, but to also implement the agreement of October 26."
Earlier, sources from the two major parties said that house speaker Filippos Petsalnikos would head the country's new coalition government, barring any last minute changes.
