In a joint news conference with French President Nicolas Sarkozy at the G20 summit in Cannes, U.S. President Barack Obama called for strong international pressure on Iran over its nuclear programme.
He emphasised the need for Iran to "meet its obligations".
He also described the country's nuclear programme as "a continuing threat".
