In central China, Henan Province police have arrested 114 people involved in a drug-ring that produced counterfeit medicine. A total of $30 million worth of fake drugs were confiscated and included over 65 million bottles.
This is not the first bust of its kind. Counterfeit goods and safety concerns are a rampant problem in the country. Currently, there's been a trend of mail order medication sold online being tainted or fake.
The news comes as a top official from the US Food and Drug Administration is in China. The FDA is responsible for maintaining food and drug safety for American consumers, and has over 80 offices in China.
