Planes remain grounded at Tripoli's international airport.
But that will soon change as the NATO-enforced no-fly zone over Libya ends as of midnight Monday, despite the interim government's request to wait for its approval.
Currently only flights carrying pilgrims for the Haj in Mecca are allowed to leave.
Officials say they are ready to return to commercial operations soon.

"As for the airport it is now ready to receive and send away those departing. We have secured the areas surrounding the airport at a radius of 25 kilometres. Now the airport is starting to work there have been 42 flights, which were exceptional trips, not commercial ones. As for the commercial flights, they will start ahead at the beginning of November."
NATO also confirmed it would end its Libya mission this week after seven months.
