Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh receive a warm welcome as they arrive in Brisbane accompanied by Queensland Premier Anna Bligh.
The Queen is greeted by thousands of well-wishers on the sixth day of the Royal visit.
She is given flowers by local schoolchildren - and has a close-up look at two koalas.
She later addresses the crowd, paying tribute to the thousands affected by the January floods.
(SOUNDBITE) (English) QUEEN ELIZABETH:
"We are here to pay tribute to the resilience and courage of Queenslanders who bravely picked up their lives and rebuilt them after a period of great adversity. This morning we travelled along the Brisbane River listening to the stories of when the river broke its bank and seeing the vast impact of this natural disaster."
Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh are on a 10-day visit to Australia.
They will end their trip by attending the biennial meeting of the leaders of 54 Commonwealth nations in Perth on Friday.
