In an exclusive interview to NDTV, BJP president Nitin Gadkari explains why he has decided to contest the Lok Sabha elections. Mr Gadkari says he's not looking for a "safe seat" and would like to be his party's candidate from his hometown of Nagpur. He also said that his party has about 5-6 possible candidates for Prime Minister, and he would not like to "add to the confusion" by joining that group. Even if his party, or its parent body the RSS, asks him, he says he will not re-think that decision. Mr Gadkari said he would not like to comment about senior BJP leader LK Advani's declaration that he does not find it necessary to rule himself out of the race for PM.
