There's no question: Alber Elbaz simply loves women. I've worn some of his designs for years, and continue to pull them out of my closet again and again. His runway shows for Lanvin are always upbeat, even in these tough times. Alber believes in a woman's strength, and creates collections that are fun, happy and full of covetable clothes. And this season was no exception.

This season, the John Galliano défilé was held at the Jardin des Plantes, a gorgeous Parisian park and botanical garden in the 5th arrondissement (and a spot that was totally new to me). Apparently, the collection's theme was "Mary Pickford-meets-Mary Poppins"--but to my eye, any reference to either personality had more to do with styling than with the clothes themselves.
