Family and friends wait to greet political prisoners released from jail in Myanmar in an unprecedented show of amnesty.
The prisoners, some looking tired and worn, walked, or were wheeled through throngs of supporters.
The decision to release the activists comes as the Myanmar government begins to drastically relax years of iron-fisted rule.
In March of this year, a retired army general took office as the first democratically elected civilian head of state in half a century.
Last year, Nobel Peace Prize laureate Aung San Suu Kyi was released after 15 years of house arrest.
Today Suu Kyi said she was thankful for the prisoners' release and that independence for all is priceless.
