In this video attorney Francis Jackson of the law firm of Jackson & MacNichol conducts a live Q & A session on Social Security Disability Training and answers the question: If a mother is legally blind and receiving Supplemental Security Income, is her 2 year old child eligible for benefits? Not if the mother is getting benefits based on the record of someone else and she has not worked and earned her own earnings. For a child of any age to be eligible for benefits on someone other than their own earnings, the parent has to have worked and earned quarters.
