Chinese authorities are faced with a protest of a different kind.
A group of senior citizens have taken to the road to protest a nearby housing project.
The seniors are saying the construction of a high-rise building has deprived their homes of sunshine. Photos from Sina Weibo show them holding white flags that read, “Return Our Sunshine.”
More than 20 grandmas and grandpas block Xikang Road near Xinhui Road in the Jing’an Temple district of Shanghai—planting themselves on their stools, chairs, and wheelchairs on the road from curb to curb.
It’s uncertain as to how the seniors’ plight will be resolved.
