Why is Wedding Ring on Third Finger?

Wedding rings have been in use since the time of the Egyptians, though they became widely popular in about the ninth century.

It was thought in Roman times that there was a special vein that ran directly from the third finger to the heart.

Because of this symbolic connection, it was this third finger that was chosen as the site for rings of love.

That practice eventually spread to many other parts of the world.

Ofcourse today we have a better understanding of body's circulation, however, tradition has stayed.
