A group of protesters gathered in New York City on Monday (October 3) to raise their voice against the arrests of more than 700 members of the Occupy Wall Street movement over the weekend.
The people were arrested for blocking traffic lanes on the Brooklyn Bridge in an unauthorized protest, although most of those arrested were later issued summonses and released.
The Occupy Wall Street movement, which has garnered the support of celebrities such as filmmaker Michael Moore and actress Susan Sarandon, is protesting against home foreclosures, high unemployment and the 2008 government bailouts of some corporations.
