Heavy fighting continues in Libya as interim government forces battle those still loyal to fugitive ousted leader Muammar Gaddafi.
Here in Bani Walid, National Transitional Council forces encounter stiff resistance from Gaddafi loyalists.
They respond with rockets.
North of the town, NTC forces have brought in tanks and Grad rocket launchers for a renewed attempt to take the town though it is not clear when the attack will begin.
Wresting control of Bani Walid and Gaddafi's hometown of Sirte have become top priorities for the NTC.
Here in Sirte fighters take a break before firing sporadic tank shells and artillery at suspected military targets.
Despite support from NATO warplanes, they have struggled to capture Gaddafi's birthplace, where the former leader still garners considerable support.
Whether or not the NTC, still based in the eastern city of Benghazi, can unify this country split along tribal and regional lines, remains to be seen.
