Hot Liquids and Kitchen Safety - as part of the expert series by GeoBeats. Safety comes first in the kitchen with anything that you do, especially when dealing with hot liquids. One example is that if I were to boil water for a pasta dish, and this is also carried out through the years of being in business as a personal chef, is that I turn on my back burner and boil my water using the back burners of the stove. Once the water is boiled I would have already have had a strainer in my sink close by, to pour the water in it. So, when you are handling a hot pan, it is always important to have these protective items like a kitchen towel that I have here. Make sure that you cover the handle and use both hands to transport the water into the the sink and pour it gently away, keeping your distance from the steam - so you will not burn yourself - and there you have it. So, it is also important to have the sink clear so that you can set your hot pan in the sink with no problems. And that is my tip for handling hot liquids in the kitchen.
