The Gardens for Good contest has received 10,000 votes and 30 applications from urban farms across America. The contest, sponsored by Nature’s Path, the maker of organic breakfast foods, and Organic Gardening Magazine, is running as a Facebook campaign to give away $65,000 for urban farming ideas that produce fresh, organic food. Applications are now being accepted at www.facebook.com/naturespath. The contest runs until the end of this month

H&M has joined the Fair Wage Network. The initiative works to bring together brands, garment producers, NGOs, and worker representatives to promote fair wages throughout the global garment industry. The Fair Labour Association will independently measure wages at more than 200 key H&M suppliers’ factories in China, India, Cambodia, and Bangladesh, representing more than half of H&M’s entire production.
