After a two week hiatus due to ongoing “moves” in the works, Nick’s Gaming View is back in session with Episode #49. This week I discuss the criticism the PlayStation Vita received and its relation to a “car wreck”. I speak on the company’s statements and provide insight on their outspoken views. I also speak on the recent PlayStation Vita press release that officially revealed the amount of system memory (RAM) and video memory (VRAM) built into the upcoming gaming handheld.
Shortly after this press release surfaced on the net, gamers around the globe questioned why cross-game chat will be possible on the PlayStation Vita, yet it has not had a presence on the PlayStation 3. I speak on Sony’s official statement that will leave many PS3 owners quite upset.
On Microsoft’s side of the business, the official name and additional details surfaced for the upcoming Xbox 360 dashboard update set to launch later this year. With the focus of the revised dashboard focused on the implementation of Microsoft’s Kinect, it is set to offer an intuitive user interface and experience for all of the Xbox 360 owners out there.
DICE also broke the news this week once again in regards to their upcoming first-person shooter, Battlefield 3. During a presentation from DICE, they revealed that the PS3 version of Battlefield 3 will be superior to that of the Xbox 360 due to hardware limitations on Microsoft’s console. I speak on this situation and whether or not I feel it will have a large impact.
Lastly, Sony broke news globally with the announcement of a worldwide price drop of the PlayStation 3. In preparation for the holiday season of 2011, this could not have come at a better time and proves Sony is prepared to leave their mark this year with titles such as Resistance 3 and Uncharted 3 releasing in the coming months.
