Although I already uploaded an excellent, genuinely jazz version by Sam Wooding (http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x8fwt5_sam-wooding-s-chocolate-dandies-how_music) here is another wonderful version by Ben Selvin. Originally a violinist, Selvin probably made more records than any other bandleader from the late 1910's through the 1930's. After his recording career he remained active in record business as artistic director till the 1960's. The vocal on this lovely version is uncredited. Rust mentions Smith Ballew as the vocalist on the recording sessions of this date in 1929n but this is definitely not Smith Ballew, but an unknown singer.
