"Child marriage is illegal in India, but since it is a traditional custom in some places, the practice still takes place in some parts of Rajasthan. Children as young as 6 and 8 get married off in some villages here. Parents place garlands of currency notes in Indian Rupees around the necks of the grooms, as the young girls and brides look on.
