A unique school, equipped with the latest technology, has opened in Kyiv. Here, each student will have their own personal computer, and some lessons will be conducted over the Internet. Our reporters visit the school of the future.
A private "Zoloche School" is opened in Vishenky village near Kyiv.
Some private funds were used in building this school where the teaching process will be conducted using the latest technologies.
For example, in this class first year pupils will use their notebooks.
A teacher can see all the computer screens the students are using.
[Andrew Artemenko, Founder, Alfa-Net School]:
"The lesson is broadcast online and transmitted via the Internet to those schools that can accept the signal over the Internet."
[Valentine Kurinnaja, School Director]:
"A teacher can display any student's work on the board and point out any mistakes."
And in this class the teaching will be done via the Internet.
[Natalia Miroshnichenko, PR Director, Alfa-Net School]:
"Parents can visit the site from home and see how the child is doing in the classroom."
Starting on September 1st, English, computer science, natural history and physics will be taught online, building to 10 subjects throughout Ukraine within a couple of years.
But some students and their parents are suspicious.
[Ruslan Janovsky, Schoolboy's Father]:
"I'm against this. It is better that the teacher presents a subject live, so they are better accepted."
[Julia, Schoolgirl]:
"In reality it is better to see, hear and talk in the class, not using a computer where the teacher does not seem real."
[Tatiana Shapoval, Mother of Student]:
"With no individual approach to the child, super-technology and virtual worlds will not be able to create a communication, which is the main thing."
