Bangkok PKG Local media reported that Thailand's Election Commission (TEC) raised no objection to the presence of European Union observers to monitor the July 3 general election.

PKG TEC chairman Apichart Sukhagganond said Monday the commission was confident it could ensure the general election meets international standards. Apichart Sukhagganond, TEC chairman states, "Should the Election find any fraud in the election or vote-buying, that candidate will be immediately disqualified." The TEC chairman said several other groups also wanted to monitor the election, however they had not been formally invited to observe the polls. He said he would not mind if they wanted to join the TEC in visiting constituencies where the race was expected to be fierce. Thanks to Xinhua News Agency.
