Take a tour of Lindos Castle in Rhodes, Greece – part of the World’s Greatest Attractions travel video series by GeoBeats.

In the far south-east of Greece's territory, on the east of the island of Rhodes, is Lindos Castle.

This castle rests on a tall foundation of rock, high above the neighboring town of the same name.

It was built by the Byzantines and later remodeled by the Knights of Saint John, who were stationed in the area.

Lindos Castle is built around an ancient Greek Acropolis, which contains a temple to the goddess Athena.

The site upon which the castle and Acropolis were built is thought to have been inhabited for over 2000 years.

Once a formidable fortress, Lindos Castle now provides visitors with a scenic location and beautiful views of the surrounding landscape and sea.
