Hi, I'm Mary Bokovoy, owner of Hood River reDesign, and I am often asked, 'How do you create the ultimate work wardrobe?' And the way you go about that is simple! You want to invest in a few items that are your foundational pieces. And when I say 'invest', its not like you have to spend a lot of money. It is just going to stores that do make quality products, and hopefully you catch some things on some really good sales.

I love Ann Taylor Loft, and going into a place like that and where you want to pick up a few jackets, a couple pencil skirts, and a couple pairs of slacks. And those are your go-to foundational pieces. Not to mention of course a great, you know, couple pairs of shoes and various heights, meaning flats, wedges, and heels. And then once you have that, you add to it colorful tops.

I always emphasize deep saturated dual colored tops for my female clients, and why is that? On most people they universally look fantastic. They add color to your face, they make you look awake whether you feel awake or not, and it really draws attention to you in meetings. It really makes people go Wow! She looks great! She looks important like she has something to say.

And I think in our work environment we really want to express ourselves in that way. So adding to that just some colorful bags, some accessories like belts and scarfs, and jewelery and you're set. And by intermixing all of these you are going to have multiple outfits that look great.
