Jiang Tianyong was among several Chinese rights activists were detained in late February after the Chinese Communist Party began cracking down on dissidents.
Jiang's wife told AFP that Jiang appears to be healthy, but it was not convenient for him to talk.
Another prominent dissident, artist Ai Weiwei is still being held after police detained him at a Beijing airport earlier this month.
