How to Do Yoga Upward Facing Bow Pose - part of the women's fitness video series by GeoBeats.

Hi, I'm Colleen, this is Brenna. We're at Bend Yoga Studio, and today we're going to show you Urdvha Dhanurasana or Upward Facing Bow. Brenna begins by lying on her back and she'll extend her arms down to her sides and walk her feet in so that her heels just graze her fingertips. Good. As she's ready she'll place her hands up over her head with her fingertips facing her hips, and her pointer fingers are parallel to one another. As she breaths in she'll ground down into her feet and lift her hips up off of the floor. On her next breath in she'll lift up on to the crown of her head and press firmly into her palms. As she's ready she'll draw the heads of her arm bones back into the back plain of her body extending wide across her collar bones. And with her next exhale she'll gently press into her feet and into her hands and lift the back of her waist up to the sky. Feeling steady in her forearms and her shin bones, she'll allow the outer hips to lift up towards the sky as her inner thigh soften down towards the floor. Once she's ready she'll slowly exhale and drop the crown of the head back to the floor. And with her next breath out she'll lower her hips down to the floor, dropping the back vertebrae by vertebrae to the ground.
