How to Do Yoga Fish Pose - part of the women's fitness video series by GeoBeats.
Hi, I'm Brenna, this is Heather. We're here at Bend Yoga Studio. We're now going to demonstrate Matsyasana, The Fish Pose. Begin lying down on your back with your legs all the way together, and then bring your arms in as close to your body as you can so you feel your elbows touching the sides of your rib cage. And then to begin, bend your elbows and lift your palms up towards the sky, pointing your finger tips skywards. And as you exhale push into your elbows, lift your chest up into the sky and place the crown of your head down onto the ground. Remain active through your legs and then every inhalation feel your collar bones, and every exhalation squeeze your shoulder blades together even more. And then stay here somewhere between 3 and 5 breaths, just continue doing to expand your chest. This helps you release the upper back and the neck that's kind of slouchy feeling that we have from our everyday life. And then as you exhale, Heather, please relax your arms and undo your spine simultaneously and the head comes down to the ground. Relax and feel.
