Take a tour of Palace Solitude in Stuttgart, Germany – part of the World’s Greatest Attractions travel video series by GeoBeats.
Outside of the town of Stuttgart, Germany is a large and beautiful domed palace.
This is the Palace Solitude, which was built in the eighteenth century as a hunting lodge.
The name comes from the intention for it to be a place of rest and retreat.
However, the original owner ran into a host of difficulties, many of which were financial.
Less than a decade after its completion, the Palace Solitude was turned into a school.
The Rococo palace has since been restored and is currently used as an academy.
