There was no shortage of famous faces on the red carpet at this year's Oscars in LA.

Stars of The King's Speech seemed keen to stress how pleased they were that the film had found such a large audience.

Best Actor nominee, Colin Firth said: "The idea that this many people would see it was beyond us, I mean, I'm still trying to get used to it".

In a slightly more surreal incident, comedian Russell Brand walked away from an interview, leaving his mother to finish it in his place.

Russell's mum was his date for the evening, as wife Katy Perry is currently on tour.
