The most challenging part of this year’s Wenger Patagonian Expedition Race 2011 was the 150km of trail-less trekking in the wilderness of Chilean Patagonia. The trekking route was split into two sections. The teams had to fight their way through forests and bushes. The second sectioned was shortened by 114km after rain turned the forests into treacherous slippery obstacle courses, covered rock faces with endless waterfalls and, crucially, caused rivers to rise to the point where the course became un-navigable.
