Donald Sutherland has been honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The 75-year-old was joined by good friend Colin Farrell for the unveiling of his plaque, which is located next to his son Kiefer's star, and it marked the 2,430th star on the famous Los Angeles sidewalk.
Sutherland, who said he was very honoured by the recognition, added: "When you're 75 years old, and the bulk of your future is behind you, not all of it, but the bulk of it is behind you, it means something completely different."
Colin Farrell paid tribute to the Hollywood legend, saying: "He looked at me straight in the eye, with a wisdom born of a long life of travel and cultural endeavour, he said, 'put out that damn cigarette.' He's been my friend ever since."
Sutherland has been in more than 130 movies and his latest film, The Mechanic, is out January 28.
