Britain's Got Talent star Susan Boyle was allegedly reduced to tears when rocker Lou Reed refused to let her sing a version of his Perfect Day on an American TV show.

But in a bizarre twist, Reed later said he regretted his decision and asked if he could put things right by directing the video to her version of the song.

The Velvet Underground singer reportedly said: "I wanted to create a beautiful and intimate piece shot in Susan's native Scotland, and she quickly agreed".

Susan said: "I loved that Lou understood how much it meant to me to film in Scotland. I didn't mind how much it rained or blew a gale, I enjoyed every minute".
