Rihanna was at London's Westfield Shopping Centre to turn on their Christmas lights.

Hundreds of fans turned up to catch a glimpse of the red head, with one fan seemingly overcome with the event, and fainting in the crowd.

There has been some speculation that the singer may be moving to the UK, but she said: "I don't know if I will yet, I've just bought a house in LA so I still have to move in there."

The global super-star delivered a Christmas message to her fans, before beginning her count down: "I hope you all get the gifts you want, and make sure Loud (her new album) is on your Christmas list" she said.

Roy Wood and Wizzard's, I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday, played out to the crowd as the lights lit up and fireworks shot into the air on stage.

Meanwhile, host George Lamb was booed by crowds as he introduced the star.
