Once world-renowned for its wealth of Ottoman and French architecture, Lebanon's capital now boasts soaring skyscrapers to rival many a metropolis. As construction companies continue to seek new land, the few remaining traditional houses are rapidly being demolished or simply disappearing into the shadows of their towering new neighbours.
