Siri Fort Sports Complex Unveiled for Commonwealth Games

The Siri Fort Sports Complex will host the squash and badminton events during India’s Commonwealth Games next month.

The venue beams with gleaming interiors, and a four-sided glass court that can be expanded into a doubles court automatically.

The squash arena has 11 singles courts that can convert into five doubles courts and one show court, while the badminton stadium houses five match courts and three practice courts.

The newly created Siri Fort Badminton and Squash Stadium in the complex has an Australian design.

The complex will also be the training venue for badminton, squash, lawn tennis and aquatics.

The sports arena is also eco-friendly.

The 'green' aspects range from rainwater harvesting, solar heating system, re-use of treated water for horticulture, and double-glazed windows.

The 2010 Commonwealth Games will be held from October 3rd to 14th in New Delhi.
